COMPARATIVE STUDY OF MAMMALIAN ESTERASES BY THE ZYMOGRAM METHOD
1 Department of Histology and Embryology, Faculty of Odontology, University of Recife, Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil
A comparative study was made of the liver, kidney, and lung esterases of 20 different mammals, using the starch gel zymogram method. Differences in the organs of each species and the particular zymogram pattern of each animal are pointed out. The results obtained cannot be correlated with the phylogenetic position of the species studied. Submitted on June 15, 1964Revised on November 24, 1964
