VALUE AND LIMITATIONS OF QUANTITATIVE CHEMICAL STUDIES IN INDIVIDUAL CELLS
1 Department of Pharmacology, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden
Remarkable methodologic advances in recent years make it possible to study with high precision, sensitivity and accuracy the activities of most enzymes and the levels of most substrates and metabolites in individual cells. The limits and the value of quantitative chemical studies in individual nerve cells are critically evaluated and discussed. Submitted on November 11, 1968
